The person behind the Lens and Pen brand is content writer and photographer, Karen Quist. That’s me! Degree qualified in professional writing and editing, I have fifteen years’ experience as a copywriter, but could never let go of my first love – photography.

For years I ran a portrait photography business alongside my copywriting services, until a lightbulb moment struck: why not combine the two? And so, with entrepreneurs and small business owners in mind, I’ve created a one-stop shop where you can get all the visual and written content you need to make your website sing.

Melbourne web content writer | photographer Karen Quist“So, what’s with the ‘Group’?” I hear you ask. My expertise is in copywriting and portrait photography. To cover areas that I don’t specialise in (such as product photography and video) I work collaboratively with other industry professionals. Only the best, of course.

My commitment to you: before I type a single word or pick up my camera, I’ll spend time getting to know what makes you and your business unique. We’ll define your brand and your unique selling point, so that we can create written and visual content that stands out from the pack.

Things I love

Since I’ll be asking you a lot of questions to find out what makes you tick, it’s only fair that you should get a glimpse into my world.

I live … in a Melbourne bayside suburb, but my birthplace and spiritual home is Cape Town, South Africa.

I share … my home and life with my husband, two teenage daughters, a neurotic dog and two spoilt rabbits.

I run … my business from home, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I start … every day with a double-shot latte.

I’m addicted to … Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and social media.

I never leave home without … applying lipstick.

I keep … my health and fitness in check with an online program called 28 by Sam Wood.

I love … fiercely!

I believe … in karma.

Here are a few of my favourite things. Aside from my camera, it turns out most of them are not things at all. They’re family, friends and pets …. and, of course, the beach!
